Long I have walked beneath the boughs of Lorien, taking solace and solitude beneath their golden leaves. The tidings of the lands outside mattered not to me, for within these woods was peace. But soon a deep gnawing came into my thoughts, I felt a great evil upon the lands outside these golden woods, a presence that has been upon the lands of middle earth for too long.
I can no longer turn my eyes blind against this rising evil. I can no longer allow the lands of middle earth be soiled by the evils of the brethren of Morgoth. I shall use my craft against them, words of power written under the light of Eärendil, and they shall come to fear me and the name of my kin. Together we shall drive them back into the fiery hells of whence they came. Together we shall return this middle earth to the hands of the Valar, and to the light of the golden trees.
