| I spoke with Vay about this the other day and we might try to give this a go. I'd like to propose we get together on our monster characters on Wednesday night and wreck havoc. Earn some Destiny points and just have fun playing the dark side. If we end up liking it perhaps we could make it a regular event and possibly have a Tribe (Evil version of a Kinship) |

| I am most interested in the concept of an "evil" character. Being new to the entire online RPG genre, I would appreciate a mentor that could show me the ropes and provide tips for the most enjoyment and best performance. I think I definitely could get into a walk on the wild side | |

| I went MP with Biradan a few days ago. It was great. Experiencing end game content at the beginning? What could be cooler! its really fun and I can see this turning into a regular event.
Update: Being Put into effect - see scheduled events | |

| i think this would be awesome! i got a rank 1 warg named babybiter on elendilmir, but if we did monster night on firefoot (it is the best monster server) i have a rank 2 warleader. ive done a lot of mp and know a lot about it and would enjoy having kinnys to do mp with immensely! Edit: garawyn id be happy to show you the ropes! give me your monsters name and ill send you a tell sometime! |

| ah great! thanks for your update Xant, we will definately consider going to Firefoot for our MP's. the only issue being: if we want to have intra kin battles in the future PvMP hehe always wanted to gut .... not naming names muahaha | |

| Thanks Xant! Gonna take you up on the offer soon. First, I need to create a Monster and tool around with it a bit, which brings up another question. I get from the posts that Monsters are like characters - not transferable to other servers. I like the idea about intra kin battles , but that would mean we all need to be on the same server. I'd like to recommend that we stay on Elendilmir for this. The possiblities are exciting! Not meaning that there would be some mems I target specifically It would also be a nice thing to maybe use this thread or create new where newbs like myself to Monster play can find a Mentor to get them on the right track. It wouldn't need to be a structured scheduled event or anything, just a way to hook a newb with a vet and give them a venue to coordinate. | |

| Oh theres absolutely nothing like collecting hobbits legs I @$% you! Wouldnt want to cut something wrong when doing such a vital task like that. Imagine if you couldnt fit it into your pot because you cut it off 5 cm to high! Terrible terrible things would result...
Unfortunately I believe that most of us are very inexperienced with MP. However Biradan, Xantame and others know a fair bit. Biradan showed mea bit during our MP session. Very good idea with the mentor thing. We should get a fellowship together over there for sure!

| I don't know how moving to other servers would work. Monster cahracters don't count agaisnt your 5 nomral cahracters. You can have one of each monster if you so chose to do so. There are also PvE aspects to MP if you wanted to go that route. I personally enjoy doing both PvE and PvPM The great thing I am finding with Monsters is you lose nothing by being defeated. you ahve no equipment that degrades, no money is lost. You just brush yourself off and head back in. You start out at level 50 as a monster character. I don't know how that will work when MoM comes out. Anyway you advance by gaining Ranks through PvP. As you gain ranks you open up new abilities and traits you can purchase with Destiny points. Destiny Points are credited to your account not your character. therefore playing your normal hero will gain you Dstiny points and it will be added to your destiny point pool. You can then use those points on your monster. Alternativly. Doing PvE content in Monster play gives you Destiny points to that same pool. Your hero could tehn turn around and use those. There is nothing really complicated about Monster play. Alot of it very similar to normal play. There are a few features that are a little different but alot of stuff you do in Monster play isn't available at Rank 0. So just like in teh normal game. Things get more complex as you rank up. thus putting the new stuff into nice bite size chunks. Thhre are several trophy vendors that gains you acces to stuff like potions and foods. Tehre are also class specific ones that gain you access to traits and skills. I have no idea where to get the stuff you use to barter with though. You can also gain money just like the normal game. You spend money at the bard to equip traits and there are a couple stores that allow you to buy and sell some basic stuff. healing potions for example. To people just starting out I would recommend you grab some of the PvE quests. Tehre is one good one where you hunt Slug meat and Slugs are just south of the starting area. This wil give you a cahnce to aquaint yourself with how your character works. I would also recommend not spending alot of destiny points on any monster until you know that you have one you want to stick with. At least at first. As always. Its easier to do stuff in a group. There is alot of Fellowship and Raid type PvE stuff available in addition to the PvP stuff. |

| I totally agree on this idea. I know all the ropes of monster play and how to play it. I have a rank 5 blackarrow on elendilmir and 2 other rank 1's. I would love to start a tribe for this kin. My blackarrows name is Krashlex. PM me if you want to know the ropes and want to learn how to play. I have over 20k destiny and i know how to get the big stuff. |

| MP is great i actually play main and my creep about 50/50 in my time in Lotro. Little added info to the awesome info so far posted about monster play... Yes you do start as a level 50.... but you really have the strength and will con to free people as a level 40 player. as you rank up and use your destiny points that you have earned you will begin to con as a higher level. when you max out your stats you will con as a level 50 Epic monster (at least that is how it all used to be when i was playing nothing but my creep 11 months ago I have a R2 Warg named Direwarg..and a new nearly R1 Spider named Hourglass (really creative names....... i know..... shuddup! LOL) that i Just started *need to make some upgrades to my comp.... there used to be rare raid vs raid battles in the old days now.... its off and on every day! So I lag way to much to play a warg.... at least this way i can stand still and root/nuke when I'm in a large war. Vay should hop on over there and we should contribute the cash to make a Multi Race Kinship over there..... so we know when other LoV members are on as monsters. LOL call it Darkness of Valinor? DoV ftw! |

| The tribe was created today by me. I originally gave the money to Vayithrik (vay's monster) to make it, but then we realized you need to be rank 3 to start it. So i did. I handed the lead to Vayithrik. It is Darkness of Valinor to answer your question |
