Hey guys its been awhile.... Last week I decided to rebuild my comp. I went to the nearest Fry's Electronics (100 miles away round trip) I bought my parts.... got half way home and realized they gave me the Intell version of a motherboard i wanted as an AMD..... turned around went back to get there just minutes after they closed their returns computers.... it gets better...They closed the only on ramp to do a repave...
And they didn't post a detour to get back onto the highway, which gave me 30-45mins driving around trying to find my way to another freeway on ramp.
Well The next day I go back swap out my motherboard, Get home put it all together... to find the ram is not posting...............
*eye twitches*
Go back the following day.... With computer in had and all my parts! Their techs took a look at it before having me do a return. they came to the same conclusion...
we exchanged the motherboard for the same make and model.... rebuilt it.... TADA!...... *suspense building* slot 1 still not posting!
So we try the ram..... slot 1 still not posting.... *thinks* well maybe its brand issues.... try 3 other makes of ram same thing..... Conclusion STAY AWAY FROM ECS BRAND MOTHERBOARDS!!
went back to good old asus for $100.00 more, it worked!
Here is my build.
Athlon 64 5200+
Asus M3A
2x ddr2 1 gig ballistics low latency 1066
Nvidia 8500 GT
Soundblaster Audigy HD (used from my old comp)
Did a complete re-format and fresh install/ installed motherboard... updated all drivers including directx9c... every things working great! installed and patched LOTRO..... Game loads up.... log onto my char..... take 4 steps or so Comp locks up and get a sound glitch after a few seconds of it being locked up...... Have to hit reset button to fix issue.
So i lowered the graphics.... nada... tried windows mode.... to make sure the game wasn't locking up so i could exit out of it.... its the whole comp... not just game.
Im kinda thinking its the video card..... and not a software issue.... anyone have any ideas?
Thanks and looking forward to playing again.... soon hopefully!!!
