The sun is shining outside! The weather's been downright awful lately! Pa said to just stick it out and things would get better. He was right.

I walked past the shop in town again today and there it was! It was still standing there in the shop window! I just like the way the instrument looks. It's so beautifully carved. The way the lines move is so poetic and yet powerful at the same time. I've heard lutes played before and I love each note so beautifully resonates. It's like the wood is actually singing! But this one? I can only imagine what this one must sound like! I keep telling Joelith that it must be made out of one piece of wood to look that beautiful, but he just shrugs his shoulders as he always does. So I just keep telling him that one day, I'll own the lute in the window.

Broken. My heart feels so dead and cold. I tell myself that I didn't know them, but I think that's what makes it so difficult. Brilliant shades of green and blue now seem muted. What once smelled sweet now smells bitter. Tears once only seen in joyful eyes are now pouring down in sadness. Life comes to a standstill. Or rather a stand-off. What brings an end to this all? Through the void eyes of strangers meet now as friends. A baby's cry can be heard. A new laugh springs up. A twinkle forms in the eyes of lovers. The joy creeps slowly back as do flowers after winter's freeze. Not everything is lost in one fell swoop. Life is hard to stop, but the bumps along the way make you think. Some will sing, some will dance, some will play a tune, some will fill a canvas. Hope will come again.
