Why is it that every time I tell one of you guys I'll be there for something I have problems.

All of my characters get stuck on the loading screen!!! And of all the quirky coincidences, I can get into Vent either

Anyone out there having problems too? I can't find a thing on the LOTRO forums ...

Strange that you can't get into Vent either. In my personal experience, firewall and router issues tend to be largest contributors to network problems.

Yeah, that's where I was at about 9am this morning. Went through their little laundry list, no go. Even went so far as to disable my firewall (!desperate!), still no go ...

i dont know if you remember, but a few weeks ago i was having connection problems as well. except i could actually log in and play for a while. then suddenly i couldnt move (although i could still chat and look around) and then that black screen w/ the "connection lost" dialogue would come up and my CPU would go back to the desktop. it ended up that my ISP was limiting my bandwidth for a reason that is too in depth to explain here. but - my point: Turbine had me use a diagnostics tool that basically pinged all of their servers and sent them information on my connection. that is how i was albe to pinpoint my ISP as the problem. im not sure if you've used this tool yet, but when you do, you should send a copy of the report to your ISP and maybe that will help them figure it out. it doesnt sound like a game issue to me since you can't log into vent either.... that makes it sound like a connectivity problem. just some food for thought.

btw: the diagnostic program is called TestGLS. can't remember where i DLed it from. good luck!

Yeah, I've run the ping pong test and everything seems to go back to my isp. Unfortunately, their take on it is "not our problem, if you insist, call back Monday" ... meaning, the weekend people have no idea what's going on and/or don't want to deal with it. (And after I got done with them, one less Christmas card they have to write )

Few more things I can try, but have to face the fact that I may not be able to get back to saving ME until Monday, grrrrrrrrr

I want to thank all the peeps that helped me out yesterday with my Day of Doom, which turned out to be 24 hours of my ISP dictating what I could (or couldn't) do with my internet service. Rally againt Traffic Shaping in your area!!!
